Commercial Snow Removal in MississaugaWhat makes the best lawn care in Mississauga?
The best lawn care in Mississauga is the dependable kind: the same crew on the same day every week, grass cut at the right height, trimming and edging every visit, clippings handled, and a clear monthly price. Add a written contract for seasonal work and quick answers when you message.
When you compare lawn care companies in Mississauga, ask the questions that separate a planned route from a casual operator. Is the price monthly or per cut, and what happens in a rainy week? Is trimming and edging done every visit or only sometimes? Who do you message when something is missed, and how quickly do they answer? Here is the short list we would use ourselves.
- A written contract for seasonal work
- A fixed weekly day from May to October
- Trimming, edging and clippings included in the price
- Knows Peel Region's yard waste rules and the City's tree by-law
- Written quotes, usually the same day
How much does lawn maintenance cost in Mississauga?
Our weekly lawn maintenance in Mississauga starts at $150 a month for a residential lot from May to October, covering mowing, trimming, edging and clippings. Commercial lots start at $300 a month. Cleanups, aeration, sod, landscaping and interlock are priced by quote, and new customers get $25 off the first service.
Lot size, access and slope move the price more than the postal code does. A townhouse in Churchill Meadows with a front lawn the size of a parking spot is a quick visit; a pie-shaped lot in Erin Mills with a long fence line and a gate to work through takes longer. Most clients pay by Interac e-Transfer. Our guide to lawn care costs in Mississauga and the GTA breaks down the rest, and the weekly lawn mowing page lists what each visit includes.
Grass cutting across Mississauga neighbourhoods
Mississauga lawns change from the lakeshore to the 401. Lorne Park, Mineola and Clarkson have big lots under mature trees, Meadowvale and Streetsville sit along the Credit River valley, and Churchill Meadows and Lisgar are newer, tighter subdivisions. Grass cutting there is quick; the trimming is the real work.
Lake Ontario softens the weather along the shore. The federal soil survey for neighbouring Halton shows the lake's moderating effect fading the further you go inland, and the same lake sits on Mississauga's doorstep: shoreline lawns in Port Credit and Clarkson often green up earlier than lawns near Pearson in Malton, so a spring schedule should start with them.
| Area | Typical lot | What it needs most |
|---|---|---|
| Lorne Park, Mineola, Clarkson | Large lots, mature trees, deep shade | Leaf cleanup, shade overseeding, hedges |
| Port Credit | Older homes and newer infill near the lake | Weekly cuts, bed edging, early spring start |
| Meadowvale, Streetsville | Established lots near the Credit River | Aeration, overseeding thin turf |
| Erin Mills, Churchill Meadows, Lisgar | Detached, semi and townhouse lots | Fast weekly cuts, salt-burn repair |
| Cooksville, City Centre, Hurontario, Malton | Townhouse complexes, condos, smaller lots | Site schedules, snow contracts |
What does Peel Region collect from Mississauga yards?
Peel Region picks up yard waste weekly in Mississauga, starting the week of March 9 in 2026. It must go out in brown kraft paper bags or open, labelled reusable containers, each under 20 kg. Grass clippings are not accepted at the curb or at Peel's Community Recycling Centres.
Brush needs tying in bundles up to 1.2 m (4 ft) long and 76 cm (30 in) wide, under 20 kg, with no branch thicker than 10 cm (4 in). Leave at least 1 m between yard waste and your carts. Peel also suggests waiting until it is consistently 15 °C before a heavy spring cleanup, so overwintering pollinators can leave the leaf litter first.
Our fall cleanup clears leaves, cuts back beds and finishes with a short last cut, with everything bagged in kraft paper for your weekly pickup. Weekly collection is a real advantage over the every-other-week schedule next door in Halton: a big fall cleanup never has to sit on the driveway for two weeks.
Landscaping in Mississauga: trees, sod and interlock
Landscaping in Mississauga has to respect the City's Private Tree Protection By-law: you need a permit to injure or remove any private tree 15 cm (6 in) or wider, dead trees included. That means garden bed, sod and interlock projects should be planned around root zones from the first sketch.
The base permit fee is $399.77 with HST, and the City has 30 business days to review a complete application. Digging a patio base through the roots of a big maple can count as injury, so we lay out interlock patios and walkways and landscape design and planting to keep clear of trunks, or raise the permit question before any work starts.
Snow removal in Mississauga after the City's windrow program
The City of Mississauga clears all sidewalks and, new in the 2025 to 2026 winter, opens a 3 m gap in about 134,000 residential driveway windrows, with no sign-up. It does not clear your driveway, walkway or steps, and skips condos, commercial properties and private roads. Our seasonal contracts cover what is left.
Timing is the other gap. The City plows at 5 cm, clears residential roads and sidewalks within 24 to 36 hours after snow stops, and reaches windrows 4 to 6 hours after a street's final plow pass. During a Citywide Winter Parking Restriction, cars left on the road face a $150 penalty, so your driveway needs to be usable early.
Our residential snow removal season is November 1 to April 30, billed in six monthly payments, with the crew out at 5 cm, salt included, and snow piled on your property. Townhouse complexes and condos on private roads get none of the City's windrow service, which is where our commercial snow removal comes in.
Why hire a Milton-based crew for Mississauga?
We are upfront about it: Lawn By Moe is based in Milton, not Mississauga. Our Mississauga clients are grouped into routes, so a crew working Meadowvale or Erin Mills is already nearby on your day. You get the same lawn services a Mississauga company offers, with one WhatsApp contact and a set weekly day.
Milton is about 30 km from Mississauga City Centre, and the drive along Derry Road or Highway 401 is part of a normal morning. If you own property on both sides of the regional line, the same crew can handle both: see our Milton lawn care and Oakville lawn care pages for what changes under Halton Region's rules.
Mississauga: common questions
How much is weekly grass cutting in Mississauga?
A Mississauga home pays from $150 a month for weekly grass cutting, May to October, and every visit includes trimming, edging and dealing with the clippings. Small townhouse lots sit at the low end, while large lots in areas like Lorne Park or Mineola cost more. New customers get $25 off the first service, and quotes are free.
Does Peel Region take grass clippings in Mississauga?
No. Peel Region no longer accepts grass clippings at the curb or at its Community Recycling Centres. The simple answer is to let them fall back into the lawn on every cut, where they act as a light feeding. Leaves, brush and garden trimmings still go out weekly in kraft paper bags or labelled reusable containers.
Do I need a permit to remove a tree in Mississauga?
Yes, for any tree 15 cm (6 in) or more in diameter on private property, including dead or dying trees, under the City's Private Tree Protection By-law. The base fee is $399.77 with HST, waived for dead or dying trees, and replacement trees are required when healthy trees come down.
Will the City of Mississauga clear my driveway?
No. The City clears a 3 m opening in the windrow at the end of single, double and shared driveways, four to six hours after the street's final plow pass. The driveway itself, walkways and steps are still yours, and condos, commercial sites and private roads are excluded entirely.
Is Lawn By Moe based in Mississauga?
No, we are based in Milton, about 30 km from Mississauga City Centre, and route crews through Mississauga on set days. You still get what a local crew offers: written contracts for seasonal service, a fixed weekly day, and free quotes when you message 437-433-1994 on WhatsApp.
